Selected by the ICSB President and Chair, this award honors individuals who feel a higher mandate not only to succeed, but also to put their whole heart into the work that they produce, bringing humanity to the forefront of all that they do.
Presented to those whose volunteer work has helped advance the principles of entrepreneurship, as well as the advancement of society.
Named for the steadfast former President of ISCB, Ahmed Osman, the Osman ICSB Leadership Award is the highest ICSB honor. Every year, it is awarded to the leader whose vision has contributed significantly to the growth and prosperity of the International Council for Small Business.
Past recipient write-up
Ahmed Osman became President of ICSB during a particularly challenging moment in the organization’s history. Rather than be overwhelmed by the circumstances, he acted with integrity to present ICSB as the prestigious, welcoming, and future-focused organization to which he was fully dedicated.
During his tenure, Osman took great care to execute the 2019 ICSB World Congress in Cairo, Egypt, where he designed and implemented the 2019 ICSB Strategy Presidential Conference, as a way to reflect on the organization’s current status and push it forward to the next chapter. Additionally, he organized the Youth Academy, also held in Cairo.
Prior to his presidency, Osman was known for his professional, always-available nature and his kindness. As President, he incorporated these attributes into his leadership style in order to motivate the entire ICSB team and shepherd the community towards its future selves. It is with great pleasure that ICSB announces this award so that Osman’s leadership legacy may live on.

However, no organization or individual may be a finalist in more than one category in any particular year. Therefore, if an individual or institution elects to submit to more than one category and is selected as a finalist in more than one category, they must choose which category they wish to compete in as a Finalist and withdraw from the other categories.
